To breed quality of rams, as I said previously, definitely needs time, efforts, and the most
important thing is funds readily available. It is very hard to maintain more than 200
quality rams for show purposes with only having 3 or 4 persons taking care everything,
beginning from providing the meal, bathing, grooming, vaccinating, training, and so forth
until exhibiting the rams into the competition. Ideally, we should have at least one person
taking care of 10 rams.
The easiest way of managing the rams is to put them into a special cage called "kandang"
with 90cm to 120cm dimension for the class A of rams. We should put smaller rams into
smaller cage too. The bigger the room for the ram, the most likely for the rams to destroy
its place. The reason is that the ram will have a room for retreating before the ram goes
to bump the side of the cage in front of it.
Following is the illustrations showing variety of rams reside inside the cage. One line of
"kandang" usually has 5 to 6 rooms for rams, depending on the size of the materials
available. The materials for this "kandang" may vary depending on the availability of
woods in your area. Do not make "kandang" from the hard wood, because it will damage
the horn of the rams. On the opposite side, do not put very soft wood, because it will not
last very long before your rams destroy it.
The variety of woods that are usually used will be describe as follow:
